To serve Peace Support Operations (PSOs) training tasks and requirements, MPSOTC conducts several Courses per year for personnel categories that include troops, staff officers, observers / monitors, civil servants, policemen / law enforcement and civilians. One of these courses is the “Cultural Property Protection” Pilot Course, which will be held from 31 Aug – 04 Sep 2020.
The maximum number of slots at the course is 35; however, the international students cannot exceed 25. Available slots is limited to 3 per interesting nation, but in order to encourage the largest possible international participation, each nation may bid for reserve slots as well. The closing date for bids is the 16th of August 2020.
The overall purpose of the course is to familiarize Officers, NCOs and Civilians with all aspects of Cultural Property Protection, including the responsibilities of Armed Forces and Non-State Actors, Data Collection and Risk Assessment, Education in CPP Topics across the spectrum of armed conflict. The overall aim of the course is to develop and improve the skills and knowledge of each student, in order to be capable of establishing, organizing, manning, equipping Cultural Property Protection units/teams and to provide a basic training on issues related to the personnel with relevant duties.
